Find answers to the most common questions about AI Auto-SEO Writer: language detection, SEO plugins compatibility, AI fallback behavior and security.

1. Does the plugin respect the language of each post?

Yes. AI Auto-SEO Writer detects the language of each post/page using:

  • Polylang post language
  • WPML post language
  • Site locale (e.g. fr_FR, en_US) as fallback

This language is passed explicitly to the AI model in the prompt, with a strict instruction to respond entirely in that language (no mixing). The “Language target” setting only acts as a fallback if no language can be detected.

2. Is it compatible with Yoast SEO, Rank Math and AIOSEO?

Yes. If the option Synchronisation avec les plugins SEO is enabled in the settings, the plugin will also populate:

  • For Yoast SEO: _yoast_wpseo_title, _yoast_wpseo_metadesc, _yoast_wpseo_focuskw
  • For Rank Math: rank_math_title, rank_math_description, rank_math_focus_keyword
  • For All in One SEO: meta title and description via the AIOSEO API.

The focus keyword is derived from the generated keywords (first main keyword) to avoid multiple keyphrase warnings in Yoast and Rank Math.

3. What happens if the AI API is unreachable?

If the AI provider (OpenAI/OpenRouter) cannot be reached (quota, network, invalid key, etc.), the plugin:

  • Does not overwrite your existing metas.
  • Returns a response flagged as source = "fallback".
  • Shows a warning notice in the meta-box explaining that the AI is unavailable.

This prevents accidental replacement of your SEO data with generic placeholders.

4. Can I use the plugin without any AI key?

Yes. You can switch the provider to Mock. This mode:

  • Disables external API calls.
  • Lets you test the UI (meta-box, popup, settings) safely.
  • Generates demo metas (title/description/keywords) and a cleaned-up version of your content in the popup.

5. Does AI Auto-SEO Writer work with WooCommerce?

Yes. Enable the WooCommerce mode in settings to display the meta-box on products. The prompt includes product data (price, attributes, short description) to generate product-ready metas. Categories support is planned in a next update.

6. How is security handled?

The plugin is designed as admin-only and protects all REST endpoints with:

  • Nonce verification (X-WP-Nonce)
  • Capability checks (edit_post, manage_options)
  • Input/output sanitization and validation
  • Per-user rate limiting for AI calls
